Contraceptive Implant eLearning Module: 

This 2-hour virtual course covers background on three types of contraceptive implants – Jadelle, Levoplant, and Implanon NXT and provides knowledge and skills needed for proper insertion and removal, as well as counseling on voluntary and informed choice. Whether you are a seasoned healthcare provider with years of experience, or entirely new to contraceptive implants, you’ll be able to resonate with the key learnings and glean useful information on the latest contraceptive implant guidelines. 

This course has been designed to make quality contraceptive implant training tools more accessible, employing the merits of a blended-learning approach. Reduced in-person training time and ability for learners to proceed at a pace compatible with their existing responsibilities. Jhpiego is confident that this approach will minimize time away from the service delivery site and yet ensure that the implant providers have the new knowledge and skills required to competently counsel, insert and remove contraceptive implants.    

Ideally this course would be administered as part of a three-phase approach to implant training but can be taken on its own. Upon completion of this course, healthcare providers are encouraged to conduct a hands-on practicum and evaluation before inserting and removing implants.
